GroundDeck is an AI app builder that turns a plain-language description into a working, versioned web app. It exists because the distance between "I have an idea" and "here, click this" is still absurdly long.
What it is
You describe the app you want. GroundDeck generates a complete, self-contained web app, streams it into a sandboxed live preview, and keeps every version you make. You refine it in conversation, publish a share link that pins one version, or export the file and host it anywhere.
The name is borrowed from the deck of a carrier: the flat, unglamorous surface that everything launches from. GroundDeck is not the flight. It is the place you take off from.
Why it exists
Most ideas never get tested because testing them means a weekend of boilerplate first. Prototyping tools stop at pictures. Full frameworks start at infrastructure. GroundDeck sits in the gap: a real app, real enough to put in front of people and argue about, in the time it takes to write the brief.
How it is built
- Generated code is treated as untrusted. Previews run in an isolated frame, published apps on their own origin under a strict content security policy.
- History is immutable. Every generation is a new version; restoring copies forward.
- Cost is bounded. Generation is rate-limited per account and the service pauses itself at a monthly ceiling instead of running an open tab.
- Published apps carry a report control, and the operator reads what comes in.
Who builds it
GroundDeck is designed and operated by Thorsten Meyer in Iffeldorf, Germany, as part of the Thorsten Meyer AI studio. It is a small operation on purpose: one person who can answer your email and fix the bug you found.
